Privacy Policy
What we collect
We collect only what we need to run the app:
- Email address — for account creation and login
- Display name and username — shown to your circle members
- Posts, RSVPs, and saves you create in the app
- Device platform (iOS or Android) — used only for push notifications
We don't collect location data, contacts, browsing history, or anything else that isn't listed above.
How we use it
To power the app — show your board, let your circle see your posts, send notifications when something's posted.
That's it. Your data is never sold to third parties, never shared for marketing purposes, and never used to build profiles for external advertisers.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data (email, display name, posts, RSVPs, saves, and circle memberships) is permanently deleted within 30 days. Aggregate, non-identifiable usage data may be retained longer for operational purposes.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account directly from the app: Profile → scroll to bottom → Delete Account.
This permanently removes all your posts, RSVPs, saves, circle memberships, and the account itself. Data is deleted within 30 days.
You can also email us at support@circleboard.app to request deletion.
Age requirements
CircleBoard is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at support@circleboard.app and we will delete the information promptly.
Your rights
You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal data at any time. You can update your display name and username from the app. You can delete your account as described above.
If you have a request we can't handle in-app — for example, a data export — email us and we'll help.
California residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to know — you can request a copy of the personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to delete — you can request deletion of your personal information.
- Right to opt out of sale — we do not sell your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@circleboard.app. We will respond within 45 days.
International users
CircleBoard is operated in the United States. If you are accessing the app from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, our legal basis for processing your personal data is the performance of our contract with you (providing the app) and, where applicable, your consent. You have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). To exercise these rights, contact us at support@circleboard.app.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you in the app or via email. Continued use of CircleBoard after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
